Matt Landry, NP
I am a nurse practitioner, but I am also someone who has been through weight loss myself. I know how difficult it can be to lose weight and keep it off. I believe your body can change when you have the right support, the right plan, and a provider who treats you with respect.
From 400 lb to 150 lb, and back to help others
I struggled with my weight for most of my life. I tried diets, supplements, intense exercise, and relying on willpower. I tried just about everything. Nothing lasted because I was not addressing the biology, habits, and emotional patterns that were affecting my weight.
Things changed when I stopped blaming myself and started treating obesity as what it is: a complex medical condition. With the right medication, nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress strategies, I lost 250 lb. I have kept it off since.
That experience is what led me to this career. I became a nurse practitioner because I wanted to help people who are going through the same struggles. I wanted to be able to sit across from someone, say, "I understand," and truly mean it.
